Product video

A product video stands in for what the customer cannot touch. So the order decides: first what it is, then how it is used, and only then the shots that look good. The reverse order makes a handsome film after which nobody knows what is being sold.

01

What we deliver

  • A script built around the features that decide the purchase
  • Close-ups of material, finish and controls
  • The product in use, not only on a table
  • Versions for the product page, social media and presentations
  • Subtitles and feature captions for muted playback
  • Optionally a generated scene where the setting cannot be filmed
02

The close-up sells more than the wide shot

The wide shot says what it is. What decides the purchase is how the lid sits, how the switch clicks and what the seam looks like up close — the things a customer tests with their fingers in a shop.

So most of the running time is close-ups. The wide shot is only the frame that orients the viewer.

03

Generated imagery where filming is impossible

A product still in production, or a setting beyond budget, can now be completed digitally. We use that where it saves a trip — not where the result would look better than what the customer receives.

With every job we deliver a breakdown of which shots were filmed and which generated. That is fairness to the viewer and, in regulated advertising, documentation worth having.

Frequently asked

How long should a product video be?
Thirty to sixty seconds for a product page, fifteen for social. A longer version only makes sense for things that have to be explained — and even then it is made separately, not by stretching the short one.
Can you shoot a whole range?
Yes, and it pays: the setup is built once and only the product changes, so the second and the twentieth item cost a fraction of the first. Put the number of items and shots per item in an inquiry.
