Product photography

A product photo has one job: to show the thing so the customer recognises it when they take it out of the box. Everything else — light, background, angle — serves that. What decides is consistency: an e-shop where every item has a different shadow looks disorganised no matter how good the individual photo is.

What we deliver

  • Pure white background for e-shops and marketplaces
  • The product in context and in use, for campaigns and social
  • Close-ups of material, finish and functional details
  • A set of angles in one consistent perspective across the range
  • Clipping, background removal and export at web and print resolutions

Marketplaces have their own rules

Alza, Heureka and Amazon each have their own rules on background, aspect ratio and how much of the frame the product fills. A photo that misses them is either rejected or cropped at their discretion.

So we know up front where the photos are going and export the variants that will pass there — rather than one set somebody has to rework by hand.

Retouching has a limit worth agreeing on

Removing dust, a reflection or a distracting object is standard. Repainting a product into something the customer will not find in the box is a problem — and in regulated sectors, a legal risk.

So the extent of retouching is agreed upfront, and we also deliver a minimally processed version in case the image has to be substantiated.

Frequently asked

How many products can you shoot in a day?
For simple items on white it runs to dozens a day; for products that have to be styled or disassembled, considerably fewer. What decides is the number of angles per item and whether the lighting changes between products. Send an inquiry with the range and the angles you need and you get a concrete estimate.
Do we ship the products, or do you come to us?
Either works. Smaller items are usually shot at our end, where the lighting is stable and nothing has to be rebuilt. For large or fragile goods we come to you — the schedule then has to allow for set-up and strike.
