Personal and family portraits
The one kind of session where the client is not a company. All the more depends on how it runs: children cooperate for twenty minutes, not two hours, and the best frames happen between the instructions. The pace and the length follow from that.

Light decides the time slot
An outdoor session has two usable windows a day — the hour after sunrise and the hour before sunset. At midday the light is hard, the shadows fall into people’s eyes, and no amount of post fixes it.
So the booking is about the hour, not just the day. In winter that means the afternoon; in summer, early evening.
With children, the plan is expected to fail
A shot list is a good servant but, with children, a poor master. So we plan short, with slack, and without insisting everyone look at the lens at once — that frame is rarely the one the parents choose anyway.
It is better to arrive with time to spare than on the minute. The fifteen minutes a child spends getting used to things is the best-spent part of the session.

- What does a session cost and how long does it take?
- The length depends on who is being photographed: a single portrait runs about an hour, a family with small children an hour and a half including a break. We price the specific date and place — put them in an inquiry and you get one figure, not a range.
- What if it rains?
- An outdoor session moves, and the backup date is agreed when you book. There is no point insisting on shooting in the rain — a soaked family looks on the photos exactly as it felt.
